PV SERVICE PLUS has built one of the largest battery storage systems in Slovakia

PV SERVICE PLUS s.r.o., a renowned player in the field of renewable energy, has built one of the largest battery storage systems in Slovakia.

PV SERVICE PLUS s.r.o. entered into a strategic agreement for the delivery and construction of a Huawei BESS container battery storage system with a capacity of 20 MWh. This project represented a major breakthrough in the Slovak and Czech markets, as it became one of the largest storage systems of its kind in the country.

BESS: The Future of Energy Storage

The technology solution was supplied by Huawei Digital Czech Republic, which provided the proven Huawei BESS system. The technology was designed to ensure high capacity, flexibility and safety in energy storage, which was essential for stabilising energy grids and supporting the use of renewable sources.

PV SERVICE PLUS: An Experienced Partner for Large-Scale Projects

The implementation company already had unique experience in this field. As one of the first companies in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, it successfully completed and operated a 4 MWh battery storage system in Hodonín. Thanks to this expertise, PV SERVICE PLUS also became the only official service partner of Huawei.

Being selected as the contractor for such a prestigious project reflected not only the company’s technical competence and experience, but also its reputation as a trustworthy partner.

“The fact that the investor chose us confirmed that we are renowned professionals who can be relied on. We are grateful for the trust shown and believe that this project will inspire other energy companies in Czechia and Slovakia,” said PV SERVICE PLUS representative Eduard Michna

We also hope that this step has opened the door to further cooperation and that other companies in the energy sector will follow this example and approach our company as a leading contractor with proven experience.

A Key Step for the Future of Renewable Energy

The project changed the perception of Huawei battery storage systems on both the Czech and Slovak markets. Its successful implementation not only supported the development of renewable energy sources, but also contributed to improving the stability of the electricity grid, which was essential for the transition to more sustainable energy.

With this step, the investor confirmed its long-term strategy of innovation and support for sustainable energy. This project represented an important milestone not only for PV SERVICE PLUS, but also for the entire energy sector. After completion, it became a model for similar initiatives in the field of energy storage.

The Strategic Importance of Battery Storage for the Energy Sector

The Huawei BESS battery storage project with a capacity of 20 MWh represented a significant step towards strengthening the sustainability and efficiency of the modern energy grid. This system played a key role not only in storing surplus energy from renewable sources, but also in ensuring the stability of the transmission system.

BESS battery storage systems (Battery Energy Storage System) enable:

  • Balancing grid fluctuations: With the growing share of renewable sources such as solar and wind power plants, the ability to respond flexibly to fluctuations in energy production and consumption was crucial. The storage system stabilised the grid in real time and minimised the risk of outages.
  • Support during peak load: During periods of high energy demand, for example during summer heatwaves or winter frosts, stored energy could immediately cover increased consumption.
  • Integration of renewable sources: The storage system made it possible to efficiently store surplus energy from the sun or wind that would otherwise not be used and ensure its distribution when it was needed most.
  • Reduced dependence on fossil fuels: The ability to store and use clean energy helped limit the need to activate backup fossil-fuel power plants, thereby contributing to lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Battery Storage as Part of Modern Energy

This project moved Slovakia and the Czech Republic closer to the energy transformation. The development of systems such as BESS has enabled the creation of decentralised and resilient energy infrastructure. In addition to directly supporting the grid, these storage systems also benefited local communities and industry by offering:

  • Energy security: Minimising the risk of outages and ensuring reliable access to energy.
  • A transition towards energy self-sufficiency: In the long term, this type of technology can support the development of microgrids and smaller autonomous energy systems.
“Storage systems that combine innovation, sustainability and technological reliability are an essential step in the transformation of our energy sector. This project is an example of how advanced technologies can serve not only industry, but society as a whole,” added PV SERVICE PLUS representative Eduard Michna

The Huawei BESS battery storage project implemented by PV SERVICE PLUS s.r.o. was therefore not only a technical investment, but also an ecological and strategic one, supporting energy independence and contributing to the goals of reducing emissions and sustainable development.
