Photovoltaic Power Plant for ACO Industries Přibyslav

Photovoltaic Power Plant for ACO Industries Přibyslav

310.8 kWp of solar power for a more modern and competitive manufacturing operation

Manufacturing companies today consider the cost of energy as more than just a separate item in their budgets. Energy efficiency, cost stability and reducing the carbon footprint are increasingly reflected in a company’s competitiveness, ESG profile and long-term strategy.

With this approach in mind, we implemented a new photovoltaic power plant for ACO Industries in Přibyslav. The project has now been completed, approved and is ready for handover. Our scope of delivery also includes the complete subsequent legalisation of the power plant in relation to the distribution grid.

ACO Přibyslav is the largest manufacturing plant within the ACO Group and an important industrial company in the Vysočina Region. In addition to manufacturing, the site is also involved in the development and innovation of new products.

310.8 kWp of energy directly for the manufacturing site

A photovoltaic power plant with a total installed capacity of 310.8 kWp has been installed on the roofs of the facility.

The system includes:
  • 518 × A SOLAR JAM78D30 600 Wp
  • 6 × SolarEdge SE50K
  • total inverter output of 300 kW
  • 264 × SolarEdge S1400 power optimisers
  • power control via an RTU unit
  • power regulation in 0 / 30 / 60 / 100% modes
  • control according to the requirements of the ČEZ Distribuce distribution grid
  • transmission of required measured data to the DSO control centre

The power plant is designed for limited export of surplus electricity to the distribution grid, with a maximum export capacity of 90 kW. The system is therefore designed not only as a source of electricity generation, but as a controlled component of the manufacturing site’s overall energy management.

Photovoltaics as a tool for reducing operating costs

For manufacturing companies, electricity represents a significant operating cost. Every portion of self-generated energy that can be consumed directly within the manufacturing site reduces dependence on electricity purchased from the grid.

The high level of energy consumption during production therefore creates ideal conditions for the use of photovoltaics in industrial facilities. The objective is not simply to generate as much electricity as possible, but above all to properly match the output of the power plant to the actual consumption profile of the specific operation.

This is also important for long-term competitiveness. Electricity generated directly on site can help reduce input costs while improving the predictability of the company’s energy management.

ESG is not just a report. It is also a tangible energy solution.

Investment in renewable energy is increasingly becoming part of companies’ broader ESG strategies.

Generating electricity from a company’s own renewable source can contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of its operations while representing a concrete and measurable step towards greater environmental responsibility.

For companies operating within international supply chains, energy efficiency and carbon footprint management may also become increasingly important from the perspective of their business partners and future competitiveness.

Sustainability therefore does not have to be merely a matter of image. A properly designed energy system can deliver both economic and environmental benefits.

What could come next? Battery storage.

Photovoltaics does not have to be the final step.

For manufacturing facilities operating multiple shifts, it may make sense to supplement the photovoltaic power plant with a battery energy storage system.

During the day, the battery can store surplus electricity that cannot be consumed immediately or exported to the distribution grid. The stored energy can then be used, for example, in the evening or at night when production continues but the photovoltaic system is no longer generating electricity.

This can further increase self-consumption, make better use of the electricity generated and potentially improve the economics of the entire energy system.

The size of the battery should not be determined solely by the capacity of the photovoltaic system. We design it according to the actual consumption profile, production regime, intended use of the energy and the economics of the specific operation.

The same principle applies to the entire energy system – from photovoltaics and battery storage to energy management.

From design to legalisation

For the ACO Industries project, our work did not end with the installation of the photovoltaic power plant.

The project has successfully passed final approval and is now entering the final stage of legalisation in relation to the distribution grid. We manage the entire process on behalf of the client.

The solution also includes control and regulation of the photovoltaic power plant via the AXY01 switchboard with an RTU unit. The power plant is prepared to respond to distribution grid requirements and transmit the required operating data to the DSO control centre.

For industrial companies, we can therefore provide not only technology installation, but a comprehensive energy solution – from design and implementation to commissioning and subsequent service.

Energy that works for your business

Every manufacturing site has a different consumption profile, operating regime and economic conditions.

That is why at PV SERVICE PLUS we do not design energy solutions according to a universal template. We analyse the specific operation, its energy consumption and future requirements, and use this information to design the right combination of photovoltaics, battery storage, EMS and other technologies.

The goal is not simply to build a power plant.

The goal is to create an energy system that helps the company reduce costs, increase energy efficiency and strengthen its long-term competitiveness.

We design and implement photovoltaic power plants and comprehensive energy solutions for manufacturing companies, businesses and industrial facilities. We will help you design a solution based on the actual consumption and requirements of your operation.
