Work is nearing completion; soon it will deliver energy from its own source.
A photovoltaic power plant is being installed on the roof of the side annex of the Moravian Theatre Olomouc, delivered by PV SERVICE PLUS. The system features an all-black design of both panels and cable routes so it blends with the roof and does not detract from the view of the historical part of the building.
The installation is located on the flat roof of a modern annex that is not a listed monument. This made it possible to choose a solution with higher panel efficiency and an optimized layout for maximum energy yield. Although the structure itself is not heritage-listed, cooperation with the heritage authority was required and proceeded smoothly and constructively. Once commissioned, the system will cover approximately 5 % of the theatre’s annual electricity consumption. The return on investment is estimated at five years.
At present, the mounting of panels, support structures, and part of the cabling has been completed. Next comes routing cables into black cable trays, electrical hookup, inspection, and connection to the distribution grid.
“I’m pleased that we have the opportunity to implement a photovoltaic plant right on the roof of the Moravian Theatre Olomouc. It’s a technically interesting project in the city center, where modern technologies are combined with respect for the historical setting,” said Eduard Michna, Technical Director of PV SERVICE PLUS.
The entire project is funded with significant grant support from the Operational Programme Environment of the ITI Olomouc Agglomeration. The chosen technologies and installation method ensure long-term reliable operation with minimal visual impact on the surroundings.
