The installation of the photovoltaic system on the roof of the Moravian Theatre Olomouc is complete and will soon start delivering the first kilowatt-hours of green energy. The project, delivered by PV SERVICE PLUS, shows that even in a historic city center it is possible to combine modern technology with respect for architecture and the surroundings.
All-black panels were placed on the roof of the modern side annex, with cable routes led in black trays. Thanks to this, the whole installation looks clean and does not disturb the view of the historic part of the building. The entire process also took place in cooperation with heritage authorities, who actively helped find solutions and enabled a project that sensitively respects the site’s value.
Once commissioned, the plant will cover approximately 5% of the theatre’s annual energy consumption—an important first step toward greater energy self-sufficiency for this cultural institution. With grant support from the Operational Programme Environment (ITI Olomouc Agglomeration), the return on investment is estimated at just five years.
