More Stable Operation of the Cogeneration Unit
The primary purpose of the battery system is to provide support during the start-up of the cogeneration unit. The battery energy storage system helps provide the required power reserve and contributes to stable operation.
As with other modern BESS projects, however, the system also offers additional possibilities for future use. The battery storage facility can potentially be used to provide ancillary services to the power grid, optimize electricity consumption or support other energy applications according to the operator’s requirements.
